Similarities in Ethical Values Preached by Prophet Muhammad (S. A. W.) And Prophet Isa (A.S.); an Exploratory Study

Abstract

The comparative studies of religions enable man to understand the difference of belief systems (aqaid) and rituals (ibadah) prevail among the different world religions. The Ethical and moral teachings of each religion constitute the main branch of religious studies as these two are inseparable from each other. Or in other words the individuality of religious belief system is the base and source of the ethical and moral values of each religion. This research paper aims to explore the similarities of ethical and moral teachings of Prophet Muhammad (S. A. W.) and Prophet Isa (A. S.). Although the religious belief of the two religions is totally different which is not in the scope of present research but the ethical and moral values of the two religions have quite similar impact in the grooming the socio-psychological personalities of their followers. The comparison to find the similarities between the teachings of Prophet Muhammad and Prophet Isa is done by comparing the primary sources of these two religions, Quran, hadith and Bible.
