It begins by clarifying the linguistic and exegetical debate around the verse “لَا يَمَسُّهُ إِلَّا الْمُطَهَّرُونَ” (al-Wāqiʿah 79), exploring whether it refers to the preserved tablet and angels or to the physical muṣḥaf and ritual purity of humans. The discussion surveys key interpretations from early authorities such as Ibn ʿAbbās, Ibn Masʿūd, Saʿīd ibn Zayd, and later exegetes like al-Ṭabarī, al-Zamakhsharī, and al-Ālūsī. The study also compiles and analyzes authentic ḥadīth evidence, particularly the Prophetic directive in the letter to ʿAmr ibn Ḥazm — “لا يمس القرآن إلا طاهر” — along with reports from Companions like ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb and Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, showing their practical application of this ruling. Juristic positions are presented across the four Sunni schools (Ḥanafī, Mālikī, Shāfiʿī, Ḥanbalī), as well as views of major scholars including Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim, highlighting the strong consensus that ritual purity is a prerequisite for touching the muṣḥaf. The article concludes that, while a minority interprets the verse as descriptive rather than prescriptive, the weight of textual proofs and scholarly agreement affirms that it is impermissible to touch the Qur’an without ablution, aligning outward physical purity with the inner reverence owed to God’s Word.
2025-10-01T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) https://rahatulquloob.com/index.php/rahat/article/view/457 ARABIC: الطفولة مقدمة الحياة الجادة فى الإسلام 2025-11-23T14:54:40+00:00 Dr. Ikram ul Haq Al-Azhari drikramulhaq@gmail.com Dr. Muhammad Khalid Fowad Abdul Munim foadkhalid04@gmail.com
Islam pays special attention to the children and their needs. Childhood is considered to be the preamble and preparatory phase for the life, Allah SWT wants Muslims to lead. Islam is the only religion whose scripture addreses the fetus in the mother’s womb and instructs the parents to cater the child’s needs even before birth. Even before conception of the child, Islamic teachings guide its followers to make appropriate choices while looking for spouse. Choosing a parent for your future generations is a matter of great care as the child raised by pious parents would be much beneficial for Ummah then the one nurtured by careless parents. Hence, raising a child is a huge responsibility and parents are liable to answer to Allah SWT in case of their negligence in this regard. After the birth of the child, Islam asks to greet him/her by celebrating the feast of aqeeqa. The second most significant right is to name the child with the best meanings. Islam discarded the tradition of bad and meaningless names. Then, the early years of development are considered to be significant in the life of a child and Sunnah of the Holy Prophet PBUH is replete with various instances where He PBUH guided the children around him regarding everyday life matters. They were encouraged to be present in prayer congregations and other meet-ups. An instance of children’s training from the early age can be seen at the house of Arqam where Muslims were used to gather in the early days of Islam secretly; the little child of Arqam was conscious enough to keep the secret from infidels of Makkah. This is the behavior of children who are raised with the consciousness of right and wrong. Unfortunately, West has attacked the Muslim society by demolishing the foundations of proper nurturing of the children; instead of being trained in the light of basic Islamic values, the Muslim children grow up watching bizarre cartoon stuff. So, this paper is an attempt to highlight the significance of the period of childhood in the development of personality. It intends to prove that only with the proper nurturing of its childre, Ummah can rise to new heights.
2025-11-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) https://rahatulquloob.com/index.php/rahat/article/view/478 ENGLISH: The Ethical Foundations of the Prophetic Battles 2025-11-27T19:55:26+00:00 Muhammad Mudasir Nawaz bashirahmed98@gmail.com Dr. Sana Jadoon Sanahamas22@gmail.com Farzana Solangi farzana.samad.solangi@gmail.com
The paper discusses the code of ethics that ruled military conflicts throughout the prophetic era by claiming that the military conflicts were governed by a complex network of ethical codes of conduct that shifted the tribal warfare that existed before the Islamic faith. The paper identifies fundamental theories such as the divine necessity of defensive war, the absolute shield of non-combatants, firm forbids treachery and mutilation, and the requirement of justice and mercy even to the enemy through examination of some of the most significant wars in the history of the Islamic faith: Badr, Uhud, and Khandaq. Comparative analysis reveals a lot of convergences with contemporary Just War Theory and International Humanitarian Law, but what is also mentioned are the theocentric differences. The article also concerns the historical and modern misunderstandings of this tradition and concludes that the prophetic model provides a crucial and indigenous asset to inform the contemporary thinking of Muslims on the conflict system, to challenge the extremist discourses, and to deepen the world discourses on the morality of wars.
2025-11-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) https://rahatulquloob.com/index.php/rahat/article/view/435 ENGLISH: Islamic Law of Evidence and the application of technology in Islamic criminal justice system 2025-11-27T20:02:27+00:00 Hazrat Bilal bilal121@yahoo.com
The subject of search and investigating facts of a dispute remains a substantive concern of the human mind throughout the history. One of the most important aspects of probing facts regarding a particular case, is searching for the perpetrator of that crime; a phenomenon that is widely exercised by different cultures and civilization from ancient times to the present day. Hence, the reaction towards crime as a social phenomenon has varied from one historical period to another. Human efforts varied in different ages about the search for means to prove crime and its attribution to the perpetrator. Based on these differences, the means of evidence and the procedure to access them differed from one community to another. Accordingly, diverse legal proof systems or evidence laws emerged in different ages and societies. The modern science give rise into many developments including those used by the investigating agencies and judges to identify illegal acts in technical manner leading to the emergence of new evidentiary system, the system of scientific evidences that had overcome the element of ambiguity associated to many crimes and has become much more sophisticated beyond the traditional method. From this point of view, it is necessary to clarify their legitimacy in Islamic perspective, especially at times of increased criminal instances where, no society is free of criminal conducts and where, complete prevention of the crimes is impossible.
2025-11-02T18:51:40+00:00 Ateeq Ur Rehman Sasoli ateequrrahman105@gmail.com Talat Shehzad ateequrrahman105@gmail.com
The life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ serves not only as a spiritual and moral guide but also provides comprehensive leadership lessons in political, social, and military domains. This study, titled “Balance of Power and Military Strategy: Prophetic Teachings and Contemporary Applications”, examines the defensive and military strategies employed by the Prophet ﷺ, emphasizing consultation (shura), organization, preparation, and adherence to ethical principles. The Prophet ﷺ consistently prioritized peace, yet when defense became inevitable, he adopted military strategies that demonstrated courage, wisdom, and exemplary discipline. Key battles such as Badr, Uhud, and the Trench (Khandaq) illustrate not only tactical excellence but also the practical manifestation of his visionary leadership. Central to his approach was the prevention of aggression and the establishment of justice, which enabled the Muslim community to overcome formidable adversaries. This strategic model remains relevant for contemporary Muslim societies facing internal discord and external pressures, providing lessons in collective unity, strategic planning, and thoughtful decision-making. The research highlights how Prophetic military wisdom can inform modern leadership, defense policies, and organizational discipline while promoting ethical conduct even in conflict scenarios. By reflecting on these historical precedents, Muslims today can draw inspiration for resilience, foresight, and tactical prudence in political, social, and security affairs. the study positions Prophetic military strategy as both a historical success and a guiding framework for contemporary challenges, advocating the integration of moral and strategic insights in modern governance and defense planning.
2025-11-01T18:50:02+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 Rahat-ul-Quloob
