An Analytical Review of Jurisprudential Debates and Seerah on Marriage Age
Abstract
The Sharia Law is profoundly linked with the Muslim personal. It highly concerns with the relationship between the twosomes; husband and wife as they are the spine of the family. Subsequently, Islamic Sharia permitted people to marry but under the paradigms, set of laws and the suitable rules to regulate it. Moreover, Islam gives guidance for selection of couples and concerns with minors specially and set rules that save their rights and interests including self-mandate. Recently, the phenomenon of marrying young girls spread in the Islamic and Arab states, the thing that caused a severe problem in societies. As a result, some states set a law that allocates a certain age for marriage. This research discusses marrying young girls and allocating a certain age for marriage. The article sheds light on the view of Islam in allocating a certain age for marriage, the criteria of the eligibility of marriage and the effects of allocating a certain age for marriage.
