The thinker of islam, Mulana Mufti Mahmood,s role in the movement for khatam-e Nabuwat.
Maulana Mufti Mahmood was born on January 9, 1919 in a village namely Panyala near Dera Ismail Khan. He received his early education from his father and the local scholars of his family, and then graduated from Shahi Muradabad Madrassa. He was also an excellent reader/Qari. On his return, he was appointed as a seminary in Qasim ul Uloom Multan due to his academic ability. He was initially associated with Jamiat Ulama-e-Sindh and then with Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Pakistan. He remained the chief minister of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and did not receive any salary for his post. He took an active part in the 1953 movement for khatam e Nabowat and spent a year in prison. In the 1973 Movement for the finality of Prophethood, he played the role of a debating member of the National Assembly, and after 13 days of debating with mirza Nasir the third caliph of the Qadianis, he made him unanswerable. Thus, the Qadianis were declared non-Muslims in the 1973 constitution. At that time, zulfiqar Ali butto was the prime minister of Pakistan. The greatest feature of his movement is that it was extremely peaceful and no untoward incident of any kind occurred. He participated in a conference regarding zakat ordinance in Jamia Banori town. He was leaving to Saudi Arabia for Hajj when he had a heart attack and died. His funeral prayers were offered at various places besides his son Maulana Fazal ur Rehman.President Gen.zia ul Haq also attended his funeral.
