Abstract

Every society followed some rituals and these rituals also change due to the social differences. In different societies, Seraiki Wasib of Rohi is one of them. This region has its own rituals and customs which are associated with different occasions such as birth, marriage, death and etc. One of these occasions is the birth of a child. What are the rituals and customs in Seraiki Waseeb of Rohi regarding birth and what is their shariah status? Are these Sunnah and permissible or illegitimate and forbidden? This article will highlight some prominent prevailing rituals along with the shariah discussion in detail.
