The Role of Good Conduct in Ensuring the Stability of Marital Life: A Special Study in the Light of the Seerah

Abstract

Marital life forms the foundation of a stable society, and good conduct is essential for its harmony and longevity. The Seerah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ provides an exemplary model of compassion, patience, love, and mutual respect in marital relations. This research examines the impact of good conduct on marital stability by analyzing the Prophet’s ﷺ treatment of his wives and linking it to modern challenges, such as emotional disconnect, poor conflict resolution, and neglect of rights. The study highlights the significance of bridging contemporary marital issues with the prophetic model, offering timeless principles to strengthen relationships based on respect, love, and understanding. It contributes to Islamic and social sciences by presenting practical solutions for resolving conflicts and promoting emotional well-being within families. Methodologically, the research adopts a qualitative approach, relying on the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical works on Seerah. Using descriptive and analytical methods, it explores the Prophet’s ﷺ wisdom in marriage and its relevance today. The findings reveal that emotional intelligence, mutual respect, and effective communication were central to his ﷺ marital life, serving as a framework for modern couples. His ﷺ patience and kindness in addressing marital conflicts provide a practical guide for reducing misunderstandings and enhancing satisfaction. Ultimately, this research underscores that adopting the prophetic model in marital counseling and education can foster stronger, more harmonious relationships, thereby contributing to family stability and the broader well-being of society.
