Aspects of Gender Role in the Development of Society, Special Study of Prophetic Age
Islam has recognized man and woman as the basic elements of mankind with the meaningful evolution of human society. In it's view, every human being can achieve the desired role in the society through his intention and action without any gender discrimination. That is why Islam considers men and women as an integral part of society and a balanced partner. In it's view, a woman can perform other social activities of the society after playing her family role, as in the time of the Prophet of Islam when the society was in a difficult time and Muslims were fighting for their survival, women did not only did he take care of the wounded person but they also took part in regular battles. In addition, Islam has given women the right to own permanent economic property. In this regard, the question deserves that in the prophetic era, did women perform economic activities and other professional responsibilities? Did women in those days have social skills like writing, speaking and poetry and medical skills like therapy and surgery? And what was the nature of women's livelihood activities in the age of Prophethood that they took on different occasions? Also, what was the situation of right to expression of women in the formation of social and political affairs in the time of the Holy Prophet? In addition to these questions, the article under review also sheds light on other aspects of the gender role of women in the Holy Prophet's time.
