Abstract

Confidentiality or Secrecy is the key to success especially in any type of war strategy and to any mission in general. The target may be achieved easily without any collateral damage and risk if you keep your secrets from the eyes of opponents/enemy. The law of confidentiality has always been catered for by both Muslims and Non-Muslims throughout the history. Keeping in view the importance of confidentiality our Holy Prophet (SAW) realized its sensitivity and cleverly achieved his goals and targets in a befitting manner. After migration to Madinah he abides by the principals of secrets and achieved many significant milestones. As the Holy Prophet (SAW) is the role model for the whole humankind and especially for his companions, hence they tried their best to save each and every word or action of him in a very cautious manner. Therefore, their own life was also a true reflection the Holy Prophet (SAW). The aftermath history also reflects that even when the Righteous Caliphs send any campaign to any part of the world, confidentiality was the basic principle, they inculcated to the commanders. The importance of secretiveness was fully emphasized so that no ambiguity be left in the mind of commanders at any level. What is the role of confidentiality in the development of a Muslim State and what our history has taught on the very importance of confidentiality, is the subject of the article, under discussion.
